Adresseregister

The Danish Address Register

Addresses are important to society; we navigate with them, emergency services find their way with them, they are on letters, they are used for corporate registration, by the Danish Civil Registration, and in many other ways.

The Agency for Data Supply and Infrastructure is responsible for the official registration of addresses in Denmark. The name of the register is the Danish Address Register. The municipalities manage Denmark’s addresses, including the addition and removal of addresses.

The Danish Address Register is the basic data register for addresses in Denmark. Overall, there are around 3.5 million addresses in the DAR, and all the addresses are registered with a geographical coordinate, a unique address description and a unique key that make them easy to use across public and private IT systems.
